Probation check leads to arrest of suspected counterfeiter in Santa Rosa

A 37-year-old Santa Rosa man was released on bail Friday after his arrest on suspicion of having fake $100 bills and counterfeiting supplies, Sonoma County sheriff's officials said.

Jesse James Lee posted bond on $11,000 bail at the Sonoma County Jail. He was arrested Thursday on suspicion of possession of counterfeiting material, fictitious currency and methamphetamines, Sgt. Mike Raasch said.

Lee was on probation for a prior drug possession and check forgery conviction, and was also arrested for violating his probation, Raasch said.

Detectives found the fake bills Thursday during a probation search in the 3900 block of Matchpoint Avenue.

Deputies also arrested Lisa Ann Sites, 36, on suspicion of drug paraphernalia possession and violating probation from a prior conviction for drug possession and check forgery, Raasch said. She was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on $2,000 bail.

Lee's next court date is Aug. 14.
