The curious and the enthusiastic are expected to gather Sunday for the second annual National Plug-In Day to promote the use of electric cars.
Cars will be available to test drive and owners of a variety of plug-in cars will be on hand to answer questions about their ownership experiences.
"The whole idea is to allow the public to come and test drive electric vehicles — to have their questions answered by people who drive electric cars," said Alan Soule, president of the North Bay chapter of the Electric Auto Association.
Other cars expected to be part of the event are BMW ActivE, Tesla Roadster, Tesla Model S and Ford Ranger EV, as well as electric scooters and bikes.
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot of Coddingtown Mall in Santa Rosa.
The national event is sponsored by the Sierra Club, Plug-In America and the Electric Auto Association.
