The Lake County Sheriff's narcotics task force on Wednesday seized 89 marijuana plants, more than a pound of processed pot and $1,900 while serving search warrants at the home of an Upper Lake couple, authorities said.

William Coleman, 53, and Robin Johnson, 54, were arrested on suspicion of cultivation of marijuana and possession of marijuana for sale. Both suspects said the plants being grown in two locations were for medical marijuana patients but neither could recall the names or addresses, Sheriff's officials said.

The search warrants were the result of a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety indicating Coleman had been arrested in that state in August on suspicion of trafficking marijuana, officials said.
