Young women from around Sonoma County will compete in the 65th annual Miss Sonoma County Pageant in Rohnert Park on Saturday.

The winner will go on to challenge other county winners from around the state for the Miss California crown. Miss California goes on to battle for the Miss America 2013 title.

Also to be named is Sonoma County's first "Outstanding Teen" who will go on to compete for the title of Miss California's "Outstanding Teen" in a June contest in Fresno.

The Miss Sonoma County Scholarship Organization sifted through dozens of applications before choosing the 10 hopefuls to take the stage at the Spreckels Performing Arts Center this weekend.

In 2011, the Miss America Organization and its state and local outposts made available more than $45 million in cash and scholarships.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for those 17 and under and are available at the box office or at the door before the 7:30 p.m. event.
