EDITOR: I find it hard to believe that anyone would want to divide the city of Santa Rosa into seven different pieces ("Two Views: Should Santa Rosa choose council members by district?" Saturday).
A great deal of what makes Santa Rosa a wonderful place to live is its small town atmosphere. When a city gets big enough, we begin to feel disconnected. Breaking the city into districts will only create further division among us.
Voters should be concerned with the welfare of the city as a whole rather than just their neighborhood. This change would inevitably pit the districts against one another for attention and funding. Why would anyone consider taking away the sense of community that we love?
