Rick Epstein has been named president and chief executive officer at Sonoma Orthopedic Products, succeeding Glen Coleman. Previously, Epstein was CEO at Ellman International, a privately held medical device company. He has also held senior executive positions at V. Mueller, Cardinal Health, Intuitive Surgical and Baxter Healthcare.

Broker/Owner Joe Pheffer has opened Solid Properties at 4795 Old Redwood Highway, Suite B, across from the Larkfield Center. Hans Carlson has been promoted to manage the Scottrade branch in downtown Santa Rosa. Previously, he served as a senior stockbroker in the online investing company's Fairfield branch and a credit/margin specialist at Vanguard.

Christopher Huber has been named director of private client sales and marketing at Hanzell Vineyards in Sonoma. Previously, he led direct-to-consumer business at Cakebread Cellars and Foley Family Wines. He also worked with Marriott International for 10 years prior to running his own training and development business for seven years.

Legal Aid of Sonoma County has elected two officers to its board of directors. Greg Spaulding, a trial attorney who founded Santa Rosa law firm Spaulding McCullough & Tansil in 1992, will serve as the board's president. Sarah Davies, vice president and commercial loan officer at Exchange Bank, will serve as the board's vice president. The nonprofit provides legal services to help at-risk children and families obtain safety and shelter.
