Elderly Healdsburg woman arrested on suspicion of DUI

An elderly Healdsburg woman was arrested early Wednesday, suspected of drunken driving, after she crashed off of Westside Road, reported the CHP.

Driver Dorothy Buechy, 86, called 911 at 1:47 a.m., saying she'd crashed on the rural road, reported CHP Officer Jon Sloat.

Her 1996 Toyota 4Runner had hit a power pole and tree.

The injured woman couldn't say exactly where she was and emergency dispatchers sent Forestville firefighters from the Russian River end of Westside Road and Healdsburg firefighters from the northern end to try and find her.

Forestville firefighters found her north of Wohler Bridge near Porter Creek Vineyard at 2:11 a.m.

They freed her from the damaged vehicle and an ambulance crew took her to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. Buechy reportedly had moderate injuries.

CHP officers who contacted Buechy at the hospital believed she'd been drinking, said Sloat. She was arrested and released to the hospital for care of her injuries.
