Santa Rosa police officers set up a checkpoint along Mission Boulevard, briefly stopped more than 1,300 drivers and arrested three who were suspected of being drunk, police reported.
Another six drivers were cited for driving without being licensed and four were cited for driving despite having a suspended license, said Sgt. Rich Celli.
Officers towed three cars because their drivers had a suspended license.
The east Santa Rosa checkpoint was held Friday night into Saturday morning. It was the fourth of the year and Celli said police officials plan to hold several more in 2012.
During the event officers spoke to 1,366 drivers as they passed through the checkpoint. Of those, 32 drivers were checked for a proper license, 19 drivers were checked for sobriety, resulting in the three arrests, Celli said.
