A Novato pair injured in a Highway 101 crash remained hospitalized Sunday with serious injuries.
Donna Kalal, 65, and Burton Greenspan, 65, were hurt after driver Kalal lost control on Highway 101 near the Sir Francis Drake Boulevard on-ramp, the CHP reported.
The 2002 Volkswagen Golf hit a rock embankment and then a concrete barrier.
Three northbound highway lanes were blocked to traffic for 90 minutes after the 1 a.m. Marin County crash, allowing for crews to get the victims and clean up the wreck.
What caused Kalal to lose control of the car remained under investigation, said the CHP.
Both were taken to Marin General Hospital. On Sunday Greenspan was in critical condition and Kalal in fair condition, reported a hospital official.
