Three injured in Glen Ellen Highway 12 head-on crash

A three-vehicle crash on Highway 12 in Glen Ellen Sunday injured three people, reported the CHP Monday.

It started at 1:35 p.m. with Sonoma driver Claudia Duranolivera, 22, crossing into oncoming traffic as she drove east on the rural highway at Arnold Drive.

Her 2000 BMW Z4 sideswiped a 2005 Dodge Ram. The BMW then hit a concrete barrier, reported the CHP.

The Dodge Ram hit a guardrail then smashed head-on into a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado.

Eileen Becchio, 48, of Suisun City was a passenger in the Chevrolet. She suffered major injuries and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

Norma Meza, 30, of Santa Rosa was a passenger in the Dodge Ram. She had moderate injuries and also went to Memorial.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Kenneth Arnold, 53, of Napa and the Dodge, Nicolas Garcia, 35, of Santa Rosa, reportedly weren't injured.

Duranolivera reportedly had minor injuries. She also went to Memorial.

CHP officers investigating the crash said it didn't appear alcohol was involved. What cause Duranolivera to cross the double yellow lines remained under investigation.

Everyone involved was wearing their seat belt, said the CHP.

The crash briefly tied up traffic on the scenic highway.
