Three injured in Healdsburg utility pole crash

A Healdsburg man was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon in a vehicle crash on Chalk Hill Road outside Healdsburg, the CHP said.

Francisco Perez Garcia, 53, was listed in fair condition Thursday at Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman for the Santa Rosa hospital said.

Garcia was a passenger in a Nissan Sentra driven by Javier Silva, 48, who lost control of the car and struck a utility pole near Thomas Road, the CHP said.

It was unclear what caused the 12:30 p.m. crash, but Sgt. Allan Capurro said there was no evidence of alcohol, high speed or reckless driving.

Silva and another passenger, Noel Gomez, 40, suffered moderate injuries in the crash, the CHP said. Both are Healdsburg residents.

Garcia suffered major internal injuries, the CHP said.

All three men were taken to Healdsburg General Hospital for treatment, officers said.

Garcia was later moved to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
