Marin cyclist hurt in Sonoma collision

A Marin County cyclist received a head injury Saturday morning after colliding with a pickup truck in an intersection at the northeast side of the Sonoma Plaza.

Signe Vik, 68, of Corte Madera was taken to Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa, said Sonoma Police Sgt. Spencer Crum.

A spokeswoman at Queen of the Valley said the hospital had no record that Vik was admitted there. She may have been treated there for her injuries and released.

The crash occurred about 9:50 a.m. near the Mission San Francisco Solano. Benjamin Scott, 41, of Sonoma was driving west on East Spain Street when his Dodge pickup truck collided with Vik as she traveled north on First Street East.

Vik was wearing a helmet, which helped prevent further injury, Crum said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
