Shoreline School District passes parcel tax

Shoreline School District in Marin and Sonoma counties scored a victory Tuesday in its quest to renew a parcel tax.

The five-school district, which serves about 580 students from Bodega Bay to Tomales, surpassed the necessary two-thirds approval threshold needed to pass a parcel tax.

The tax passed with 71.5 percent of the vote.

The tax, $184.64 per parcel, was first passed by voters in 1984 and has been renewed ever since. The current tax was approved for eight years.
