Both sent to area hospitals with multiple wounds

Two people were stabbed during an encounter at a Wikiup home Thursday that sent both to area hospitals with multiple wounds, Sonoma County Sheriff's officials said.

Neighbors called 911 at 7:34 p.m. to report a man and woman fighting outside a Carriage Lane home near the Wikiup Golf Course, Sgt. Kevin Scanlon said.

An argument that apparently began inside had spilled out onto the driveway.

Their injuries did not appear to be life threatening, Scanlon said.

One person was taken to Kaiser Hospital in Santa Rosa, dispatchers said. The other person was taken to Sutter Hospital and was to be flown to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.

Late Thursday, yellow tape blocked off the edge of the driveway of the stately white home surrounded by lush gardens and tall trees. The tape was wrapped around a van parked in the driveway, its rear haphazardly extending into the road. The garage door was open.

Deputies scoured the scene with flashlights.

Detectives also were investigating a third person who may have been involved in the fight, Scanlon said.

They still were "trying to figure out who did what," he said.

The fight appeared to be a case of domestic violence. Scanlon declined to identify those involved.
