Eating out on Thanksgiving?

Many of us would rather not cook on Thanksgiving Day, especially if it clears our plate for other fun activities, like a walk in the park, a game of touch football or a blockbuster movie.

If you go out to eat, you don't have to polish the silver or wash up the dishes afterward, but you might get leftovers to take home in a doggie bag.

Here is a round-up of some of the restaurants serving Thanksgiving dinner, both traditional and untraditional, on Nov. 22, and a few ideas for getting guests out of the house on the long weekend:

<CF103>John Ash & Co.</CF> in Santa Rosa will serve a special menu of traditional Thanksgiving favorites from 1 to 8 p.m., along with non-traditional autumn dishes and desserts worthy of grandma. 527-7687. 4330 Barnes Road, just off Highway 101 at River Road. vintnersinn.com.
