Alaska Airlines' Santa Rosa ridership up in April

Ridership on Alaska Airlines' Santa Rosa flights grew 3 percent in April, with 16,485 passengers using Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport.

Flights averaged 74 percent full last month.

So far this year, Alaska's Santa Rosa ridership is up about 2 percent from 2011.

Alaska operates five flights a day from Santa Rosa to Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland and Las Vegas. The carrier will stop service to Las Vegas and begin flights from Santa Rosa to San Diego on June 4.

It will also add a third flight to Los Angeles four days a week through Aug. 25.
