Jackson Family Wines underwrote the Santa Rosa Symphony's final concert series of the season this weekend in memory of founder Jess Stonestreet Jackson, who died a little over a year ago.

To honor her father, Julia Jackson will play "All I Ask of You," from Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical "Phantom of the Opera," on the piano during the symphony's concert at 8 tonight at the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts.

Jess Jackson was a visionary winemaker, risk-taker and self-made man who put himself through the University of California Berkeley's Boalt Hall School of Law.

Along with his wife, Barbara Banke, he was champion of the sustainable farming movement and a philanthropist who quietly donated millions of dollars in support of local and national charities.

His passion for racehorses was legendary, but he also enjoyed racing his fingers over a keyboard.

If you're having wine tonight, raise your glass to the legacy of Jess Jackson, which is being carried on by his wife and children at Jackson Family Wines.

The performance by flutist Jean Ferrandis this weekend was underwritten by Wil Craig, an alumnus and former faculty member at the Santa Rosa Junior College.
