EDITOR: I was pleased to read your endorsement of 3rd District Supervisor Shirlee Zane ("For Zane: A solid first term," April 28). Although I voted for her in 2008 and expected a competent official, I believe she's surpassed voter expectations. She's managed to appeal to both the business and environmental communities and is even making some headway with pension reform. I'm impressed, am backing her again and won't be surprised if we see her in a higher office some day.
