A Santa Rosa driver, suspected of being drunk, drove his pickup off of Highway 101 north of Healdsburg Saturday night and landed upside down, trapped in water.
Firefighters got Thomas Piceno, 44, out and the injured man was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. He was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for care of his injuries, reported CHP Officer Jon Sloat.
Another driver told the CHP the white pickup had passed them heading south at an extreme speed, then swerved and went over an embankment near Asti Road.
The officer followed tire tracks down the embankment and found the truck overturned in standing water.
Piceno was one of several drivers arrested during the weekend by the CHP.
At the start of the weekend, CHP officers arrested Eli Cohen, 45, of Cotati at about 12:30 p.m Friday for impersonating law enforcement.
Cohen had told a CHP officer earlier in December he was an officer and an investigation determined he'd falsely claimed that several times, Sloat said.
Officers were looking for him Friday and when pulled over he produced a badge and identification showing he was a San Francisco County Sheriff's deputy, Sloat said.
Officers arrested him on suspicion of impersonating an officer. They also found several guns in his home and Sloat said the Cotati man faces possible felony weapons charges.
Petaluma driver Kristen Allen, 37, went to the Sonoma County Jail Friday night after officers stopped her for weaving on Highway 101 near Windsor.
