Sebastopol police will conduct a DUI checkpoint Friday night at an undisclosed location within the city.

Officer David Harston said the checkpoint will run from 7 p.m. to about 2 a.m. Police will check motorists for signs of alcohol or drug impairment, as well as for proper licensing.

Impaired drivers can expect jail, license suspension and insurance-rate increases, as well as fines, fees, DUI classes and other expenses that can total more than $10,000, Harston said.
