Man hospitalized after police standoff ends peacefully in Santa Rosa

An hourlong standoff in west Santa Rosa on Friday night was resolved peacefully when police took a man in his 60s to the hospital.

The man, who was alone in his apartment in the 2100 block of Jennings Avenue, had "mental health issues," Santa Rosa Police Sgt. Brad Conners said.

"He had made some statements that gave us concern," Conners said.

A Sonoma County mental health mobile support team responded and talked to the man, Conners said. The man had no weapons, he said.
