Napa restaurateur Eiko Nakamura was found dead this weekend and her ex-husband arrested on suspicion of killing her in the home they shared, Napa police said.
Eiko Nakamura ran the popular Eiko's, which serves modern Japanese food in downtown Napa.
Napa dispatchers got a call from a concerned friend of Nakamura's shortly after 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning. The friend said he had not been able to reach her since Friday, police said.
Officers went to the home on Pinewood Drive to check on her and met Nakamura's ex-husband, Shozaburo Nakamura, 71. The couple apparently still lived together even though they were divorced. When officers explained why they were there, Nakamura let them into the home, then immediately confessed to killing his ex-wife during a domestic dispute on Saturday morning, police said.
Officers found her in a bathroom with several stab wounds and signs of blunt force trauma, police said.
