EDITOR: So Tuesday's primary election "may" have set a new standard for apathy in the North Coast electorate — or, the implication is, it "may not" ("N. Coast voters set new mark for apathy," Thursday)? I mean, it's probably one or the other, right? Logically speaking.
Sadly, it's true that the spectacle of incumbents coasting back into office doesn't particularly stir the soul, let alone the apparently bored or jaded voter's hand.
But I hope Staff Writer Derek Moore will have his pencil sharpened and his pad handy if our newly re-minted district attorney, after nearly eight months of delay and triangulation, officially concludes that the killing of a 13-year-old boy by a slightly gung-ho sheriff's deputy was tragic . . . and that's that, end of investigation.
Will Sonoma County residents react to this announcement with apathy?
People may not be voting, but they're still paying attention.
