Santa Rosa man arrested in Internet porn case

A Santa Rosa man was arrested Friday on suspicion of soliciting sexually explicit videos from a 13-year-old girl in Wyoming.

Federal court documents unsealed Friday say the Laramie County girl turned to her parents for help after a stranger she encountered on the Internet in recent weeks demanded she produce the videos.

An investigation by Wyoming's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force led to federal charges against Christopher J. Beets, 23. He was arrested by federal authorities on Friday with the assistance of Santa Rosa police.

Beets faces charges of attempted production of child pornography and attempted online enticement of a child, said Jim Anderson, an assistant U.S. attorney in Cheyenne.

Authorities plan to bring Beets to Wyoming for prosecution, Anderson said.
