Santa Rosa police Wednesday were investigating a reported bank robbery in Santa Rosa.

A man passed a note to a teller at about 4:40 p.m. at a Bank of America branch off Farmers Lane at Montgomery Village, Santa Rosa Police Sgt. Mike Lazzarini said.

No weapons were seen during the brief robbery before the man left with an unknown amount of cash, he said.

The gray-haired man was reportedly about 5-foot-10, 190 pounds and in his 60s or early 70s, police said. He was clean-shaven and had gray hair and was reportedly wearing a black baseball cap and black windbreaker and wore large headphones around his neck, according to preliminary reports.

He left in an unknown direction. The bank allowed a few customers to finish their transactions before closing the business for the day.

No more details were available Wednesday night.
