Man convicted of murder in Lake County slayings

UKIAH - A jury Thursday convicted convicted Robby Alan Beasley of first-degree murder in the 2010 marijuana-related slayings of a Lake County couple.

Prosecutors said Beasley, 32, shot Frank Maddox and his wife Yvette in a rural road turnout and left their bodies unburied at the bottom of an embankment. The couple's decomposing remains were found nearly six weeks later.

Prosecutors said Beasley killed the Maddoxes after suspecting they stole marijuana from his apartment.

Beasley faces life in prison without parole and will be sentenced next month.
