3 arrested after pot brownies brought to Central Valley school

NEWMAN — Authorities in the Central Valley community of Newman say three high school students were arrested and two others hospitalized after marijuana-laced brownies and cookies were passed around at a high school.

Newman Police Lt. Brett Short told the Modesto Bee (http://bit.ly/RVklVq ) that a 14-year-old boy brought the baked goods to Orestimba High School on Monday and sold them to two 15-year-old boys.

Short says after the 14-year-old was identified as the boy who brought the brownies to the school's campus, he was arrested on suspicion of selling drugs and child endangerment.

The two 15-year-olds were arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs on campus and child endangerment.

Four other students officials say ate the brownies — two girls and two boys — were cited and released for being under the influence of drugs.
