Sonoma Wine Co., which provides custom-crush winemaking services, has been awarded Certified California Sustainable Winery status for its Graton and American Canyon winemaking facilities

The designations were awarded through the third-party certification process from the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance.

The certification will allow Sonoma Wine Co. clients to use the alliance's logo on marketing materials, websites and secondary packaging, but not on a wine label.

"This is a validation of the great works that the team at Sonoma Wine Co. has been undertaking since we began operations in 2001," Natasha Granoff, director of business development, said in a statement. "We've received many environmental awards at the regional and state level, but this is really gratifying for us given its comprehensive criteria."

The alliance established certification programs to recognize the adoption of sustainable practices by California wineries and vineyards.
