Fat Tuesday is coming to Petaluma on Tuesday.

The 24th annual Mambofest begins at 5:30 p.m. at Putnam Plaza in Petaluma, when local revelers and enthusiastic musicians converge for the annual festivities.

From there, a Mardi Gras parade will kick off at 5:45 p.m., led by the Marching Brass Band as it winds its way through downtown Petaluma.

Final destination? Zodiacs on North Petaluma Boulevard, where the dance party will be hopping with music by bands Rhythmtown-Jive and Tri Tip Trio. Enjoy Louisiana menu specials all night long, and bring your Mardi Gras beads and masquerade disguises. The best dressed revelers will receive prizes for their efforts. Tickets to the event are $7 in advance and $10 at the event. If you've got an instrument, like a drum, a horn, or anything that makes noise, bring it for the parade. This event is all-ages until 9 p.m.
