Festival del Sole announces 2015 plans

The Napa Valley Festival del Sole will open its 10th season July 17 with a recital at the Castello di Amorosa in Calistoga with mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato and pianist-composer Jake Heggie.

The summer festival continues through July 26 with concerts that range from opera, classical and jazz to dance and theater performances at various venues throughout the Napa Valley. There will also be wine, food and fitness events throughout the festival.

For the third year, the festival will present a concert at 6:30 p.m. July 21 at the Green Music Center at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park. The program will be announced in April.

Healdsburg chef Charlie Palmer will serve a patron dinner on July 23 at Harvest Table, his new restaurant at the Harvest Inn at the south end of St. Helena.
