Film Fest Petaluma to feature local and global films

On May 2, the 7th annual event will screen animated and live-action short films from around the world, as well as work by local student filmmakers.|

The seventh annual Film Fest Petaluma will screen animated and live-action short films from around the world, as well as work by local student filmmakers, during three sessions Saturday, May 2, at the Mystic Theater.

Presented by the Petaluma Film Alliance, the films will be shown at 2:30, 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. at the Mystic, at 23 Petaluma Blvd. N. in Petaluma. There will be open discussions with filmmakers after the screenings.

Top filmmakers from the Sonoma County Student Film Festival, held April 3, were invited to the downtown event at the Mystic.

The program includes films by four Santa Rosa Junior College filmmakers: “The Cardboard Escape” by Kendra Goff; “Tough Case” by Stefan Perez; “Jean Loup Where Are You?” by Ian Powell; “Superhero Hotline” by Miles Levin.

Tickets cost $10-$15, with all-day passes price at $25. Recommended for age 15 and older. Information and full film list: filmfestpetaluma.com.
