West county artists open their studios for 21st annual Art at the Source tour

Visitors will have the chance to meet more than 100 local artists during the June Art at the Source tour.|

If you love art, what could be better than meeting local artists and seeing for yourself how they work? You're about to get your chance.

The 21st annual Art at the Source open studio tour, featuring 157 artists began June 6-7, and continues June 13-14 at 99 studio locations in western Sonoma County when 48 artists conduct demonstrations in their studios.

To take part, just get a free tour map and catalog. Then you can choose your own destinations and map your own route. Open studio hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You also can get an advance glimpse of the artists' work at a preview exhibit running through June 14 at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts, 282 S. High St., Sebastopol.

Maps and catalogs are available at the center or online at artatthesource.org,

Artists include painters, sculptors, potters, jewelers, photographers, and glass and fiber artists.

The event is one of two open studio tours sponsored every year by the Sebastopol Center for the Arts, which also presents the countywide Art Trails tour in October, previously run by the now-defunct Arts Council of Sonoma County.

Art at the Source created by the Sebastopol Center for the Arts in 1995 to showcase more West County artists.
