‘King of Motown' Smokey Robinson to appear at Green Music Center

Smokey Robinson's Sept. 4 performance is the final add to the Green Music Center's summer concert series.|

Singer, songwriter and Motown icon Smokey Robinson will appear at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 4 at Weill Hall + Lawn at Sonoma State University’s Green Music Center.

The “King of Motown” has left his mark on music for more than 50 years and is credited with 4,000 songs and 37 hits in the Top 40 charts. The performance is the final concert to be added to the 19-concert Summer 2015 MasterCard Performance Series, which runs from July 4 to Sept. 25 and ranges from blues and country to rock’n’roll and R& B.

Tickets to the Smokey Robinson concert will be available starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, to MasterCard cardholders and current Green Music Center subscribers. Tickets to the general public will be available beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 1. Tickets to all previously announced summer concerts are currently available. gmc.sonoma.edu or 1-866-955-6040.
