Playwright Neil Simon is best-known for his light-hearted comedies -- “The Odd Couple” and “Barefoot in the Park” -- but Sonoma Arts Live plans a production of one of the author’s slightly more serious plays.

“Jake’s Women,” running July 9-26 at the Sonoma Community Center, tells the story of a famous writer and his troubled second marriage.

The production, directed by Joey Hoeber, stars Cameron Stuckey as Jake and Jennifer Peck as his wife, Maggie. The cast also includes Julia Holsworth, Jaime Love, Anya Cherniss, Meghan Lehmann, Claudia Rosa and Coral Utnehmer.
