El Capitan climbers to appear at Wells Fargo Center
Wells Fargo Center for the Arts announced the addition of 21 new shows to its 2015-2016 season Tuesday.
One of the highlights of the season will be an Aug. 16 appearance by Yosemite climbers Kevin Jorgeson, a Santa Rosa native, and Tommy Caldwell, who won international fame for scaling El Capitan last January. The pair will share their stories of the climb. Tickets cost $30-$40.
Other new shows include:
Grammy Award-winning singer, composer and bassist Esperanza Spalding, Aug. 9. $44-$59.
The music of Janis Joplin with Tony nominee Mary Bridget Davies, Aug. 30, $49-$59.
George Thorogood and the Destroyers, Sept. 25, $36-$46.
Roseanne Cash with John Leventhal, Oct. 16, $35-$45.
Improvisational comedy with Ryan Styles, Greg Proops and others in “Whose Live Anyway?” Nov. 7, $39-$59.
Smooth jazz saxophonist Dave Koz and his Christmas tour, Dec. 22, $39-$69.
“The Summit,” a vocal concert with Manhattan Transfer and Take 6, Feb. 18, $55-$65.
The Pilobolus dance company, May 13, $20-$50.
