Sonoma County wineries full of harvest fun

From winemaker dinners to wine paired with BBQ, there are lots of events to look forward to this harvest season.|

In Wine Country, harvest celebrations pop up all over the landscape, offering fine wine and more. You can take your pick of oysters, lobster, barbecue, desserts, live music, dancing and even bocce ball.

Here’s a dozen September events you might want to try:

Saturday, Sept. 5: “Harvest Dinner Celebration”-Celebrate the new harvest with a four-course dinner in the Cellar, followed by dessert, dancing and Antoine Favero’s award winning wines. 5-10 p.m. Mazzocco Winery, 1400 Lytton Springs Road, Healdsburg. $135. 707-433-3399, mazzocco.com.

Sunday, Sept. 6: “Oysters on the Terrazzo” - Each ticket holder receives 12 raw oysters, 6 barbecued oysters, tomato salad, garlic bread, grilled seasonal vegetables, and a glass of wine. “Harvest Moon Dinner” - Gourmet four-course meal prepared by John Ash with wine pairings and live music by New Skye, followed by a tasting select 2005 cabernet magnums. 5:30-9 p.m.
