The Jean and Charles Schulz Information Center, which opened in 2000 at Sonoma State University, will celebrate its 15th anniversary from 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 10 with a carnival-style birthday bash.

The party kicks off with a “Happy Birthday” sing-along by the clock tower, followed by a performance by the SSU Sapphires dance team, party games, cake, sparkling wine and photos with Snoopy.

There will also be a reception for a special exhibit about cartoonist Charles Schulz’ work and impact on campus, presented with support from the Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa. “You’re an Open Book, Charlie Brown” includes books and music that inspired Schulz while he worked on his beloved comic strip, “Peanuts.” The exhibit runs through Dec. 15.

Other 15th Anniversary displays are exhibited throughout the center, including artifacts from its construction. In addition to housing the University Library, the Schulz Information Center houses the Writing Center and Information Technology, plus a handful of educational programs and offices. The SSU Campus is located at 1901 East Cotati Ave., Rohnert Park. library.sonoma.edu.
