Singer-songwriter “Uncle Gerry” Dignan, known internationally for his recordings of music for children, will perform at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, in Santa Rosa at a fundraiser for a new playround.

The concert also will celebrate the 15th anniversary of Santa Rosa Area Music Together, a local program that teaches classes using the globally distritubted Music Together curriculum, an introduction to vocal and instrumental music to children age 7 and younger and their parents.

The event will benefit the “Aiden’s Playground” project at Santa Rosa’s A Place to Play Park, named in memory of Aiden Hansen, born with a rare heart disease, who died last June at age 6, following heart transplant surgery.

Dignan will appear at the Cove Church, 5146 Old Redwood Highway, Santa Rosa. Donation: $25-$50 family. Information: santarosamusictogether.com.
