Raven Theater Windsor stages ‘The Bible (Abridged)’

A new show exploring all 66 books of the Bible in 90 minues opens Oct. 9 at the Raven Theater Windsor.|

The Raven Theater in Windsor will close at the end of the year, as announced last week, but in the meantime, the show goes on, with “The Bible: The Complete Word of God (Abridged)” opening Friday, Oct. 9.

Directed by Skylar Evans, Raven Theater Windsor actors Dan Stryker, Adam Blankenship and Athena Gundlach will cover all 66 books of the Bible in 90 minutes and dealing with such theological questions as “Did Adam and Eve have navels?”

The play was written by Adam Long, Austin Tichenor and Sonoma’s own Reed Martin of the Reduced Shakespeare Company.

The show will run through Oct. 25 at 195 Windsor River Road, with performances at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and matinees at 2 p.m. Sunday. Admission costs from $10 to $25. Information and tickets: raventheater.org.

The board of the Raven Theater, which has had locations in both Healdsburg and Windsor since January 2014, voted last week to close the Windsor site in late December because the theater company could not raise the money needed to buy the property it was leasing.

The last show at the Raven Theater in Windsor will be the Raven Players production of “It’s a Wonderful Life,” Dec. 4-20,

Healdsburg’s long-established Raven Theater will not be affected by the closure of the Windsor facility, and shows there will continue as scheduled.
