Weiner dog races and more set for Cotati Oktoberfest

A full afternoon of beer, polka and family fun is planned for La Plaza Park this weekend.|

On a fine October weekend, you might ask yourself, “Where can I go to see such sporting events as Weiner Dog Races, the Tankard Hoist, the Stein Race and a yodeling contest?”

Fans of offbeat athletics need look no further. The answer is downtown Cotati’s ninth annual Oktoberfest, running from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, in La Plaza Park.

A full afternoon of Teutonic fun includes German food, fresh craft beers on tap, polka dancing and traditional Oktoberfest music by the Karl Kebherz Band.

A Bavarian bratwurts meal with one drink costs $15. Beer and wine will be available for $5. Admission is free.

For more information, or to get a form for placing your dashing dachsund in the Weiner Dog races, call 707-795-5508 or email chamber@cotati.org.
