Five Sonoma County music acts awarded grants

Five Sonoma County musicians and bands have each been awarded $2,500 from Creative Sonoma.|

Five Sonoma County musicians and bands have been awarded $2,500 each by Creative Sonoma, a division of Sonoma County’s Economic Development Board, it was announced this week.

The recipients are Avery Hellman of Ismay, The Bootleg Honeys, Black Sheep Brass Band, Shaun Hunter Wagner and The Easy Leaves. Grants will be paired with 10 hours of one-on-one consulting with music industry experts.

In addition, The Easy Leaves also will receive one complimentary day in the EMG-TV Studio to shoot up to three live performance videos, including mixing and editing, valued at $24,000.

The program is made possible with grant funds from the William J. and Flora Hewlett Foundation, with additional support from EMG-TV and Lagunitas Brewing Company.
