Both current and former members of Cinnabar Theater’s Young Rep performance troupe and training program will perform at this month’s “Broadway Bash” talent showcase and fundraiser.
“The fundraiser helps us to raise revenue for programming, royalty rights, sets, costumes and scholarships for those who would not be able to come to our shows without help,” said Diane Dragone, executive director of the Cinnabar Theater.
“Our Young Repertory Theater was founded in 1983 to counteract the precipitous decline in arts funding for public schools. Over the years, we’ve served thousands of students,” Dragone said.
The fundraiser starts at 6 p.m. Feb. 25 in Ellis Auditorium on the Santa Rosa Junior College’s Petaluma campus at 680 Sonoma Mountain Parkway.
The evening includes wine, champagne, hors d’oeuvres, small plates and desserts. Tickets cost $50 each. For tickets and information: cinnabartheater.org/broadway-bash, 707-763-8920.
The remainder of the current Young Rep season includes productions of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” March 10-12 and the Broadway musical “Pippin” May 12-21, both at the Cinnabar Theater.
“Other activities include summer camps, after-school classes, weekend seminars, ticket discounts, and community service opportunities,” Dragone said.
