'Bumblebee' movie starring Hailee Steinfeld filming in Marin County

A "Transformers" spinoff featuring "True Grit" star Hailee Steinfeld is filming in Marin County and the North Bay.

According to the Marin Independent Journal, the Paramount production called "Bumblebee" is creating a set in the Peacock Gap area of San Rafael.

The movie, a prequel to the popular "Transformers" series, is the first live-action film for director Travis Knight. It centers around the early years of a yellow and black autobot appropriately named Bumblebee.

It is due for release June 8, 2018, according to IMDB.
