B & V Whiskey Bar & Grille will present a photography exhibit by artist Gil Kofman from June 1 through Aug. 31 at the restaurant located at the northeast corner of the Sonoma Plaza.

A cocktail reception for 'Gil Kofman: Surfers' will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. June 1 in honor of the opening, and the artist will be in attendance. To RSVP to the opening, go to facebook.com/burgersandvine.

'The expanse of water, broad sky, this is the stage where I wanted to fix my tableau; isolate my surfers in space and time, and turn their leisure into something more existential and universal,' Kofman said in an artist's statement.

Kofman was born in Nigeria and grew up in Tel Aviv and Kenya. He studied Physics at Cornell, enrolled in the MFA graduate film program at NYU and received his MFA from the Yale School of Drama in playwriting. He has made several films and taught at the USC Graduate Screenwriting program.

B & V Whiskey Bar & Grille is located at 400 First St. East, in the historic Creamery building. Food is served from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, and the bar stays open until 1 a.m. 938-7110.
