SONOMA: Vintage Festival

Sonoma will celebrate the annual Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival this Friday through Sunday with an array of parties, wine tasting, live music and family fun events held in and around the Sonoma Plaza.

The opening Night Gala at 6 p.m. Friday will be held in the historic Sonoma Barracks, with more than 50 wineries pouring their varietals, food tastings from local chefs and a costume contest.

The festivities continue on Saturday with the Blessing of the Grapes at 10 a.m., the grape stomp at 11 a.m. and wine tasting accompanied by live music, followed by the Bear Flag Reenactment at 7 p.m.

Sunday, there will be races in the morning and an art festival with wine tasting in the afternoon.

KENWOOD: Party in the park

The Valley of the Moon Alliance will hold its annual Preserving Sonoma Valley Party at noon Saturday in the Kenwood Plaza park.

The fundraiser will feature live music, libations, information displays and a Triple Choice Burger Bar provided by the Maria Carrillo High School Culinary Program's new food truck.

Tickets are $30 general, $20 students, with all proceeds going to the Valley of the Moon Alliance, a nonprofit promoting the preservation and protection of the Sonoma Valley. To reserve: brownpapertickets.com/event/3066621.

UKIAH: Harvest dinner

Bonterra Organic Vineyards will open its McNab Ranch for the first time in decades at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 30 for a Moonlit Harvest Dinner to celebrate the winery's 30 years of organic farming.

SANTA ROSA: Winemaker dinner

Betz Family Winery of Washington State will give a winemaker dinner at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at John Ash & Co. in Santa Rosa.

The dinner, prepared by Executive Chef Tom Schmidt, includes passed hors d'oeuvres in the garden and a four-course feast paired with wines.
