The full-length trailer for "The Dawn Wall," documenting Santa Rosa native Kevin Jorgeson and partner Tommy Caldwell's history-making 2015 Yosemite National Park climb, was released this week ahead of a one-night-only showing in select theaters across the country on Sept. 19.

On Jan. 14, 2015, the world held its breath as the two men captured the world's attention, completing the first free ascent of the fabled route up legendary El Capitan.

The movie, directed by Josh Lowell and Peter Mortimer, premiered last year at the International Film Festival in Amsterdam and is based on Caldwell's 2017 memoir, "The Push."

"The documentary is Tommy's life story, and the Dawn Wall is part of it," Jorgeson said in a March interview with the Press Democrat upon the film's U.S. premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas.

Though there are no current showings of the film in Santa Rosa, the movie will be shown at Century Napa Valley in Napa and Vallejo 14 in Vallejo. For information on how to get tickets, go to www.dawnwall-film.com.
