Green Music Center offering free concerts for Sonoma County fire victims in October

In the wake of the devastating wildfires, the Green Music Center is offering to help with the healing power of music and free concert tickets for anyone impacted by the fires during the month of October.|

In the wake of the devastating Wine Country wildfires, the Green Music Center at Sonoma State University is offering to help with the healing power of music and free concert tickets for anyone impacted by the fires in any way.

“We seek to be a haven of peace in a time of deep hurt,” the press release said. “All are welcome - pay as you can, come as you are.”

Concerts at Weill Hall through October include pianist Peter Serkin in recital at 7:30 p.m. tonight, Oct. 20, the all-star jazz band Hudson at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, and the Miro Quartet with pianist Jeffrey Kahane at 3 p.m. Oct. 28. Concerts in Schroeder Hall include violinist Alexi Kenney at 3 p.m. Oct. 29.

Tickets may be purchased in person at the GMC Box Office and the SSU Student Center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The BMC Box Office is located in the courtyard of Weill Hall and is open one hour prior to most performances.

Across the Sonoma State University campus, where more than 30 students, faculty and staff lost their homes, recovery efforts are being carried out under the banner of #NomaCares (sonoma.edu/nomacares).
