Indie music innovator Calvin Johnson plays Santa Rosa
Indie music singer, songwriter and producer Calvin Johnson, touring with his current solo project, Selector Dub Narcotic, will perform Wednesday at the Brew coffee and beer shop in Santa Rosa.
The show starts at 7 p.m. and features two opening acts: singer-songwriter Big Kitty and local art rock band Hose Rips (formerly Secret Cat.)
Johnson has appeared twice at Santa Rosa’s Arlene Francis Center, with his Selector Dub Narcotic show in 2016 and with his band The Hive Dwellers in 2014. He also was a founding member of the bands Cool Rays, Beat Happening and The Go Team.
The Brew show is being produced by local impressario Jake Ward.
Suggested donation is $10 to $20, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. However, it’s a small venue, so plan to arrive early. Brew is at 555 Healdsburg Ave., near the Santa Rosa Plaza mall.
