Santa Rosa Symphony announces new development director

The Santa Rosa Symphony has appointed Sue Ross of Healdsburg as its new director of development.

Ross, who most recently served as executive director of the Healdsburg Museum & Historical Society, has more than 30 years experience in non-profit administration and fundraising.

"We're delighted that Sue will apply her wealth of experience and talents in non-profit fundraising to help ensure the Santa Rosa Symphony's future," SRS Executive Director Alan Silow said in a press release.

Opera and classical music have been a part of Ross' life from early childhood, when she trained in ballet, flute and voice.

"Having been raised in a household where such music was the backdrop to our lives now serves to combine my working days with my life's passion," Ross said.

A former teacher, Ross has taught seminars and lectured extensively on fundraising and grant writing in the U.S.

In addition to her professional life, Ross enjoys writing, gardening and spending time with her fianc? Dr. Charles D. Elias, a psychotherapist in private practice. They currently reside in Healdsburg.
