California Highway Patrol investigators examine the wreckage from a multi-vehicle accident the claimed the lives of two people on Westbound Interstate 80 at Old Davis Road in Davis, Calif., on Thursday, March 28, 2013. According to CHP Public Information Officer, Chris Parker, the driver driver of the semi was traveling eastbound on the freeway while eating, when he suddenly began choking and lost consciousness. The semi swerved briefly onto the right shoulder before veering to the left across all lanes of traffic, striking two vehicles before plowing into, and through, the center divide. The truck then collided head-on with a westbound BMW sedan, killing both occupants and causing both vehicles to burst into flames. The driver of the semi suffered minor to moderate injuries, including burns, and was transported to a local hospital. (AP Photo/The Reporter, Joel Rosenbaum)
